Industrial Tourism

A consistent touristic dimension emerges in S. João da Madeira, based on traditional industry, and on the new technology and creativity based industries.

We want to share this (material and immaterial) heritage with Portugal and the world. In order to do that, we set the S. João da Madeira Industrial Heritage Circuit. Our aim is to stimulate curiosity and supply the necessary information to those who are eager to closely know our valuable and constantly evolving heritage.

The S. João da Madeira Industrial Heritage Circuit establish itself as a touristic product, with high economic, cultural and entertainment value, through which the tourists have the chance to visit factories in action and the city’s Hat Museum.
